Vietnam Trip

Day 2(Hanoi/Halong Bay)

At 6.30am(7.30 in Singapore), woke up. Brushed teeth and changed then went to the lobby to eat breakfast. After eating, went to the bus and went to the ho chi minh museum. It was quite nice, although my family did not pay much attention to the tour guide cos we were busy taking photos... haha. There was also this giant statue of ho chi minh. He was a very respected man, because he helped vietnam in some way. I do not know the details, cos we were, again, busy taking photos. After that, about 1 hour later, we went to temple, and studied the vietnamese history. There was this part where there were i think about 82 turtles, each where there was a stone tablet with some carvings or chinese words. And they believe thet if u touch the turtle or the tablet, it will give u good luck. So, what the heck, everyone just went ahead and touch it. After that we went to another place, where there was all of ho chi minh's stuff, like where he used to live in. And the things in the room were all really his things, they preserved it. Then we saw a giant dead turtle in an empty tank, and it was real! It was supposed to be like a thousand or hundred years old, and i didnt noe how it was preserved so good. It looked like it died just recently. After that we went to eat lunch. Then we headed to Halong Bay. The journey took about 3-4 hours, so i slept in the bus. There was a short break in between, and during the stop over i bought a chocolate bar with the money my father gave me. Then, it was in the bus again. At like 5.00, the sky already began to get dark. At like 6.00, it was like 8.00 in singapore. So, we arrived in Halong Bay, then we checked in to the hotel. It was 3 stars, and wasnt as nice as the Fortuna Hotel. When i came into the room to put in the lugguages, i just took a look around the room to see what it was like. Then, in the toilet, i saw that one of the cups that u were supposed to rinse ur mouth with, had some like black stuff in it, looked like bird shit. EWW! Okay, after that went to a restaurantto eat dinner. The first dish there was a seafood soup, but it was soooo super starchy and thick that even when i put the viniger in it, i could not mix it aroud properly. After that the tour guide told us about some massage thing that only ppl above 18 can go, then all the adults said that they want to go... Alamak! Then they ask us, to take care of the CHILDREN!!! They were like 4 years or below!!! AHHH! I knew that we were like dead. d-e-d. Then we went into the bus, i had to carry a small child over a large gap in between the bus and the pavement. The first task i had to do. Then In the bus, we realised that we actually drove off without the oldest one of us who wasnt going to the massage, our last hope. Cant believe it! 1 minute after the parents left, and this happened. We were really DEAD. Okay, we stopped and waited for her to come. Then we left 4 the hotel. We went into my cousin's room, and brought all the children there. it was then that we realised that it wasnt that difficult. We just turned on the TV and told the children to watch and... Wala! Took care of them. We sat there and ate snacks for about 2 hours, until the parents finally came back. When the parents opened the door, they all laughed because they saw so many children so it was like a child care centre. -_-"... Bad memories... We went back to the hotel room, and slept. It was a good sleep, much better than the one before. End of day 2!

Vietnam Trip

Okay, im gonna say the things i did in the vietnam trip, which is a lot of things...

Day 1(Hanoi)

woke up at about 6.30, ate breakfast and took a taxi 2 airport. Met my cousins there, chatted, then checked in our luggages. Waited some more... blah blah then went through the departure gate. Waited some more, for my cousins to come, but they all shopping away... not like us, so kan jiong(however u spell it) so early go wan, in the end nvr shop at changi airport. Anyway, boarded airplane, (Singapore Airlines, Hooray!) closed my eyes and sat down. The airplane took off, ate lunch there, watched some movies and played some games, then landed. Vietnam was quite cold, but not very. Just need one jacket jiu hao le. I expected it to be super cold like 9 degrees like the internet said. Ha, worried 4 nth. Waited 4 our lugguage, very long leh, like 30 min. After that my father gave each of us(me and my 2 siblings) 50,000 dom. Looks like alot eh? Actually it is worth about less than $5. 1 sing dollar is about 11.000 dom. Then we boarded the bus and headed to the hotel, Fortuna Hotel. The bus trip was 45 min. The road in vietnam was very small, and it was PACKED with motorcycles, which was their main mode of transport. It was like a marathon with motorcycles. It was literally PACKED with motorcycles! I think 80% of the road was filled with motorcycles, especially at the rush hour. The reason: The roads are too small and crowded so traffic jams would appear everywhere if most of the vehicles were cars, and motorcycles could travel on the pavement, so it was alot more convinient. And, in vietnam, about 90% of the vietnamese drivers didnt follow the traffic rules, so the traffic lights there was almost useless. Once I even saw a car driving the OPPOSITE DIRECTION on the PACKED road! That was why, the tour guide said, if u learn how to drive in vietnam, u would know how to drive in the rest of the world. Ha ha. There were also no pedestrian crossings at all, so everybody would just cross the road like that. But at least the drivers are all used to this, so they know how to avoid u if u cross the road. It looked quite safe, actually, to cross the road when i saw other ppl doing it. Okay, back to story... Took our lugguage from the bus and check in the hotel. The hotel was quite nice, i think it was a 5 star hotel, and in front of the main entrance there was a small merlion, and there were some places in the hotel that was called, "Merlion Room 1,2,3", and "Sentosa Room", so i assumed that it was a Singaporean Hotel. It was about 3.00 then. Went into the room, then watched TV until 4.20, when we were supposed to meet the tour guide at the lobby. Boarded the bus, and went to watch a "Water Puppet Show". It was indoors, so it wasnt that cold. Okay, went in, waited again, then the show started. There was like a small pond on the stage, and puppets started emerging from underwater. It was nice, with all the old vitenam tools, like a cage, basket and net to catch fishes, and there were dragons and phonixes too, although i dunno what relations they have to vietnamese history... After the show, boarded bus and went to a restaurant to eat dinner. All the houses there where very long and thin and tall, because the land there was very expensive so they need to save money by buying less land. So, most of the resaurants there were two storeys. Ate dinner, very nice. The vietnamese ate alot of vegetables, so they were very healthy. The rice was also very sticky, and it was served in very big bowls, for about 6 ppl per bowl, not like in singapore, where it was 1 small bowl per person. The first dish was called "pho", but u pronounce it as "Phe". Dunno why, its just their language. I also learnt some vietnamese greetings, like "Sin Chao", which means good morning, or im hungry. Depends on how u say it. If u say the "Chao" from lower to higher tone, it means good morning. If u say it from a higher to a lower tone, it means im hungry. Dun really noe how to explain la. Back to story again: Ate alot, because i was very hungry, then went back hotel. I didnt sleep well, slept like 4.00am. Kept on sneezing and have blocked nose. It was probably the vitnamese green tea that i drank alot of. I will continue on another post.

Twilight Movie

I went to watch twilight yestarday, wif Jowell, Elsa, Angie, Chee Xian( i guess you should noe him by now, if u dont, hes angie's bro), and Sean Chia. Ok, I went to Ai Tong at 12, met Bendy, Celeste( I think) and some other ppl. Angie and Jowell were already there. I collected my results, and waited some more until chong ching came. He collected his results, and went home. Oh ya, Elsa also went home to change before chong ching came(or was it??). Later I changed out of my school uniform and waited some more until sean chia came. Together, we headed for the bus stop to go to amk hub. Then, chong ching came rushing to us saying that he was also going. So, now it makes Jowell, Elsa, Angie, Chee Xian, Chong Ching, and Sean Chia. Blah blah blah fast forward to amk hub. Took our lunch there, then the girls went to buy the tickets. So, at 2 we watched the movie. It was quite nice, but sometimes chong ching had to spoil the story by saying who was a vampire or whatever. bleh After the movie went to sean chia's hse adn played duel masters. 6.30 went home and...

THE END
